This is a 6-part series of 2-hour sessions, each featuring a key emotionally intelligent leadership competency.


Session 1

  • The Neuroscience of Emotions
  • The link between emotions, decision, behaviour, and performance
  • The emotional intelligence competency model and the behaviours in each competency


Session 2

  • Self-Awareness & CARE model
  • Awareness of Others
  • Sympathy vs. Empathy
  • Control vs. Affiliation and model to understand others


Session 3

  • Authenticity
  • What does it mean to show up authentically?
  • Creating connection, trust, and understanding


Session 4

  • Emotional Reasoning
  • How to surface emotional information when reasoning
  • Explore the role of confirmation bias and intellectual humility
  • How to make expansive decisions with all the information available
  • Explore when to Ask, Tell, Search, and Share


Session 5

  • Self-Management & Resiliency
  • Explore triggers and default behaviours
  • Explore ways of managing stress and bounce back, strengthening your resiliency
  • Look at a psychological well-being model


Session 6

  • Inspiring Performance
  • Putting it all together and applying the principles to an individual, and to a team more broadly
  • Look at motivation and engagement of those we lead
  • Practice applying
